Lyrics
tadayou sora no dokoka tooku | If somewhere amid that aimlessly drifting sky, |
inori tsuuzuru hoshi ga aru to shitara | There was a planet where our wishes could flow free… |
bokura wa soko e mukau darou ka | …would we try to make it there? |
soshite nani o inoru no darou | I wonder what we’d wish for if we did… |
hatasenakatta yakusoku ya | There are promises we couldn’t keep… |
gisei ni natta kouketsu no hikari | And noble lights we had to sacrifice… |
nokoru mono nado nanimo nai to shitemo | But even if we have nothing left, |
ima wa shinjita michi o tada susume | All we can do now is follow the path we believed in. |
kibou no hana tsunaida kizuna ga | A flower of hope… a bond tying us together, |
ima bokura no mune no naka ni aru kara | Now grows within our hearts. |
kesshite chiru koto ha nai | Forever unwilting, it gives us the power |
ikiru chikara | To go on living. |
kibou no hana tsunaida kizuna o | A flower of hope… with the power of this bond, |
chikara ni shite asu o tsuyoku sakihokore | Let us raise tomorrow to grow powerfully, in full bloom! |
modoru basho nante nai tadoritsuku beki basho e to | There’s nowhere to return to… so let us head for our fated destination— |
mayoi no nai hata o takaku kakagete | Letting the flag of our determination fly high, |
ima o ikiteyuku | We live on through each moment. |
mienai mono ni obieteita | We were frightened of things we couldn’t see, |
tarumu koto nai kono sekai no naka | Within a world that never loosens its grip. |
soredemo hitotsu kokoro no namima ni | But amid the waves in our hearts, |
kawaranai mono ukabenagara | We kept one constant thing afloat! |
kibou no hana tsunaida kizuna ga | A flower of hope… a bond tying us together, |
ima bokura no mune no naka ni aru kara | Now grows within our hearts. |
hokorobi o nuiai | Sewing up our open seams, |
tsuyokunareru | We can become stronger! |
kibou no hana tsunaida kizuna o | A flower of hope… with the power of this bond, |
chikara ni shite asu o tsuyoku sakihokore | Let us raise tomorrow to grow powerfully, in full bloom! |
nan no tame mukau no ka miushinaisou na toki ni | Whenever it seemed we might lose sight of why we forge on, |
mamorinukitai mono ga aru koto | We realized |
kidzuitanda | We have something we want to protect until the end. |
kizu o kakushi hitori naita yoru ni | On nights we cried alone, hiding our scars, |
kureta yasashisa afuredashita no wa | Kindness always came flowing forth… |
mirai o chikatta “ketsui no namida” | Because we’ve devoted our future to these “Tears of Determination”. |
kibou no hana tsunaida kizuna ga | A flower of hope… a bond tying us together, |
ima bokura no mune no naka ni aru kara | Now grows within our hearts. |
kesshite chiru koto ha nai | Forever unwilting, it gives us the power |
ikiru chikara | To go on living. |
kibou no hana tsunaida kizuna o | A flower of hope… with the power of this bond, |
chikara ni shite asu o tsuyoku sakihokore | Let us raise tomorrow to grow powerfully, in full bloom! |
modoru basho nante nai tadoritsuku beki basho e to | There’s nowhere to return to… so let us head for our fated destination— |
mayoi no nai hata o takaku kakagete | Letting the flag of our determination fly high, |
ima o ikiteyuku | We live on through each moment. |
Notes
- This song was famous for the death of Orga Itsuka. When this song sings "Kibou no hana", Orga Itsuka died in a very weird gesture which looks more like dancing. This part made the
anime of viewers mad with the director Okada Mari, and the death of Orga Itsuka became the source of MAD and Kichiku for Niconico Douga and Bilibili Douga user.At Bilibli, Freesia is known as 希望之花(Kibou no Hana) and 女人唱歌男人死 (Woman singing while Man dying.)
