A Midsummer Night's Lewd Dream (Manatsu no Yoru no Inmu) is a Japanese adult internet subculture. The subculture is known for its scatology, homoeroticism, BDSM overtones, and its videos being most likely subject to censorship and heavy editing in order to prevent deletion.

Background

The subculture came to the attention of the internet, following a scandal in 2002 when it was discovered Japanese baseball player Kazuhito Tadano (known simply as TDN in the Manatsu no Yoru no Inmu subculture) played one of the characters.

In the first scene, TDN, DB, and HTN, cause a car accident by rear-ending a car carrying a Yakuza named TNOK. DB, driving the car, has his driver's license taken away. The three young men are taken to TNOK's office.

In the fourth scene, Yajuu Senpai and Tono head to a house to settle down and relax on top of the building after discussing on what to improve Tono's skills and what to do on the roof. Yajuu Senpai and Tono strip down to their underwear. Yajuu Senpai goes to get drinks for him and Tono. Plotting to put Tono to sleep, Yajuu Senpai, roofies the tea with an unknown drug that knocks Tono out. Tono, waking up hours later, and strapped to a bed, is raped by Yajuu Senpai. Yajuu Senpai and Tono embrace after performing sex acts, and finally, kiss each other.

Yajuu Senpai, who would go on to be the most popular character in Manatsu no Yoru no Inmu, was introduced to Nico Nico Douga in 2008. Excavation projects would go on to have Yajuu Senpai also star in another similar gay adult film Labyrinth of Temptation, among others.
