• Emanuel Pugashov Amiran composed and wrote the lyrics to Mayim Mayim, inspired by the third verse of the Book of Isaiah, chapter twelve - "Joyfully shall you draw water from the fountains of triumph". A dance was made to the tune of the song in 1937 by Else Dublon. This dance is often taught at Japanese schools.
• The song was used as background music for the arcade shooter Sexy Parodius.
• On Nico Nico Douga, Mayim Mayim is used in many videos.
• A slowed-down remix of this song has been used as BGM for some episodes of Axis Powers Hetalia.
