Notes
- This is a lyrical remix of Native Faith, Suwako Moriya's theme in Mountain of Faith, the tenth game in the Touhou Project series
- This song includes many parodies of megahit videos from Nico Nico Douga. The singer of this song is also a very popular girl, Ameko (あめこ), which is an anonym of doujin singer Merami Pop, (めらみぽっぷ).
- "Teacher! Are we going to have Cirno as a snack?" — This is derived from a Japanese typical phrase, "Teacher! Are we going to have bananas as a snack?" (Sensei! Banana wa oyatsu ni hairimasuka?) Japanese people often see or hear that phrase said by elementary school students who are planning a school trip, but the phrase has been around so long that comes across as hackneyed now.
- Stop ribbitin'! — This line is derived from "Stop broodin' on!" (kuyo-kuyo suruna!) , which is a line from Let's Go! Onmyouji.
- Ame ni mo makezu, kaze ni mo makezu — These lines are derived from the Japanese poem Ame ni mo Makezu (雨にも負けず, "Not Losing to the Rain"), written by Kenji Miyazawa (宮沢賢治). This poem is said to illustrate Miyazawa's spiritual desire to be humble, simple, poor but praiseworthy.
- Mishakuji-sama is a mythical serpent god that is said to live in Suwa Lake.
- Kanako is often compared to a Guncannon because of her onbashira logs.
- Tetsuko! — This phrase is derived from Let's Go! Onmyouji. A subbing person thought "rettsu go" (let's go) was similar to "Tetsuko", who is a famous TV personality, Tetsuko Kuroyanagi (黒柳徹子). Then the joke about hearing it wrong became popular. Some Nico Nico Douga fans typically like jokes about mishearing words or making puns, and often add them in to videos or video comments.
- We hope we don't have to explain the "Nice Boat" meme, because we wouldn't know where to start... Anyway, it can refer to the death end of the anime School Days (ref: Kanashimi no Mukou e).
- I borrowed one from the fox — The fox is Ran Yakumo. She has nine tails and so Suwako borrows one, though whether that's actually possible is uncertain.
- "Tokoro de, kono shimenawa dou omou?" "...tottemo futoi to omoimasu." — This quote is derived from a homoerotic manga, Kuso Miso Technique (くそみそテクニック), "By the way, look at my balls. What do you think of them?" "So...big..." (「ところで俺のキンタマをみてくれ こいつをどう思う?」「すごく‥大きいです‥」). The dialogue in this odd manga is seen as having very good tempo and unique comical character, although what they do is very vulgar and erotic. It was first appraised on a BBS site, Ayashii World (あやしいわーるど) (link collection), and then 2channel, and now Nico Nico Douga.
- Ciruno no umami — This is derived from the Spanish translation of the anime Rurou ni Kenshin: Futae no Kiwami (Mastery of the Two Layers). This version of the anime has many unexpectedly dull or comical scenes, thanks to the performance of the voice actor for Sanosuke being either too wooden or overblown. In one particular scene, Sanosuke, the best friend of the main hero, lashes out at a boss competitor, saying, "Futae no Kiwami! Yaaahhh!" The Spanish voice actor's performance makes the phrase sound particularly funny.
- The line "Boushi no naka ni dare mo i-ma-se-n-yo", along with its accompanying image in the flash video, is a parody of one of Katsura Kotonoha's final lines in the anime School Days.
- "Nice Boat death" is a pun on "death" and the polite sentence-ending verb "desu".
- The kefir thing comes from a Japanese commercial. Its last phrase, "Yogurt? No, that's Kefir," is apparently considered extremely catchy. (ref: No, It's Kefir)
- Aua! A, A! Au~ Au~ Hai☆Hai! — This phrase is derived from Kotoko's song, for example "Kyururun Kiss de Jumbo" (きゅるるんkissでジャンボ♪♪). This song is sung by a J-pop singer.
