Question

Why do original songs not get a link?
And also iDOLM@STER is usually capitalized as iDOLM@STER in any sources I've seen

I also have a number of issues with what Captain Ugly has written. First off, here are the old standards (circa 2009): http://kumikyoku.rintaun.net/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=16&start=10

The standards I've been working off lately go something like this:

  • Internal links are always added, unless the title is from an unconverted Japanese track list. This is well established and has been since the wiki was set up.
  • By source:
    • Anime: I only add links to anime which have been featured enough to receive their own pages. I've never like the idea of linking half the songs in the tracklist to the same page.
    • iM@S: If it doesn't originate from a game put the CD name in. This seems to have been forgotten.
    • Any song that originates from NND has a link within the source. This includes most Vocaloid songs.

and so on.

Proposed changes I've been thinking of include:

  • By source:
    • Touhou Project original BGM: I've been toying with the idea of adding which game the BGM came from. What do you think?

If I think of anything else I'll add them. Arcorann (talk) 22:50, 28 October 2012 (PDT)

I've been thinking, music of bands and singers I put "song by".

Now, to classical music, should I put "composed by" and the name of the opera / symphony / movement? Or keep the pattern that I use in Original Songs ? --Capt. Ugly. 14:12, 7 February 2013 (PST)

What is folk song ?

Nursery rhymes? Children songs? Religious songs ?

How can I establish a pattern?

Thanks !!--Capt. Ugly. 14:12, 7 February 2013 (PST)

iDOLM@STER´s songs, can we put a internal link to the source (there IS a iDOLM@STER page, right ?) --Capt. Ugly. 15:21, 27 March 2013 (PDT)

Hey, sorry for any misunderstanding. About the original songs, I don't want internal links to pages that doesn't exist, Using Memeshikute from Golden Bomber as exemple: this song is been used quite a lot in recent medleys, but, the song dosen´t have a page to be linked, so, if someone create a page with the lyrics, this person can make a internal link to it.

Arcorann mentioned key facts and I agree with what was appointed. The Touhou Project idea is a good one, but I think it will be a little "messy" or hard to understand, (only if someone works in the Touhou Project page and summarize all the games from the series and associate the songs with the game).

About the super redirection of songs for the anime page, I thought; add OP or ED at the end of the source.

"the name of the anime" followed by OP, ED or Insert, without using the Internal link to the anime page.

Of course, animes that already have a page will have the Internal Link to the page of the anime in question. --Capt. Ugly. 08:42, 29 October 2012 (PDT)

I feel that it is preferable to link to song pages as the medley pages are created, if only because it is far more of a hassle to add links later. I know that if I decided to create a page I wouldn't want to check every medley page to see if the song has been used to add a link. In addition, linking immediately creates other advantages, such as being able to check Special:WantedPages to see which songs that don't have pages and are used in many medleys.
