Here are the tentative standards for listing tracks on this wiki. The eventual intent is to include policies on source listing and usage of romanised/translated titles.
General
- Where there exists a commonly used alternate title for a song, it should be listed in italics directly after the song title.
Example: Ground Theme (Here we go!) -- Super Mario World BGM
Entries for songs from the Touhou Project series should have the internal link on "Touhou", followed by the full title of the game and the BGM acronym as shown below. In addition, the name of the song should be the translated version. If unsure about these names, check Touhou Wiki.
EX 1: Necrofantasia -- Touhou Youyoumu ~ Perfect Cherry Blossom. BGM
EX 2: Flight of the Bamboo Cutter ~ Lunatic Princess -- Touhou Eiyashou ~ Imperishable Night. BGM
If the song is a remix, put the the internal link on "Touhou Project", followed by the name of the remixer with the following phrase: arrangement by _____. In addition, the name of the song should be in romaji.
EX 3: Saishuu Kichiku Imouto Flandre S -- Touhou Project arrangement by beatMARIO (COOL&CREATE)
EX 4: Marisa wa Taihen na Mono wo Nusunde Ikimashita -- Touhou Project arrangement by ARM (IOSYS)
Vocal synthsizers
Entries for songs from vocal synthesizer programs, such as VOCALOID and UTAU, should have the internal link on the source if a page exists, followed by who was singing in parentheses and who created the song.
EX 1: Miku Miku ni Shite Ageru♪ -- VOCALOID (Hatsune Miku) song by ika
EX 2: Iwashi ga Tsuchi kara Haete Kurunda -- UTAU (Kasane Teto) song by Koronba
To determine if a video link is needed, simply do an online search of the romaji name. If the song is easily accessible on YouTube under the romaji name, then a video link isn't needed, since the song can easily be looked up. However, if the song can only be found by searching the kanji title, as is the case for the example below, then it would be good to have a video link.
EX 1: Ah~~~~~ Sushi Kuitai o~~~~~ (あ～～～～～寿司食いたいお～～～～～) -- Vocaloid (Hatsune Miku) song by Nota / Ref: sm21115198
Entries for songs from the iDOLM@STER series should always use the "@" for "A" and have the source name in capital letters (minus the letter I), with the internal link on the source, and use the "playable song" sentence in lowercase at the end of the source. Where the song originates from a CD, use the CD title instead and capitalize the letter I. The game or CD title must be capitalised correctly. If unsure, please check project-imas wiki.
EX 1: Do-Dai -- THE iDOLM@STER Live for You! DLC playable song
EX 2: Sora -- THE IDOLM@STER MASTER ARTIST FINALE 765PRO ALLSTARS CD
Anime
If the anime already has a page on this wiki, you should use the internal link on the name of the anime; if not, do not make the title of the series a link. Use the acronyms OP, ED (for the words "Opening" and "Ending" respectively) after the source. If the song is not a opening or a ending, use "insert song" at the end, or "BGM" if the song is instrumental. If the song originates from a CD, the song should be either a character song or an extra song that only appears on the CD.
EX 1: Connect -- Puella Magi Madoka☆Magica OP
EX 2: Hare Hare Yukai -- The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya ED
EX 3: Seikan Hikou -- Macross Frontier insert song
EX 4: Suneo's Bragging Theme -- Doraemon BGM
EX 5: Nano Desu☆ -- Higurashi When They Cry Kai character song (Hanyuu Furude)
EX 6: Kaeshite! Knee Socks -- Lucky Star Motteke! Sailor Fuku CD
Original songs
Entries for songs from bands should use the internal link on the name of the song and use the sentence "Song by ___" after the name of the band.
EX 1: Memeshikute -- Song by Golden Bomber
Video games
Entries for songs from video games should generally use the acronym BGM in the end, after the name of the source.
EX 1: Beware of Forest Mushrooms -- Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars BGM
BEMANI
Entries for songs from BEMANI games should have the internal link in the source name if a page has been created for it, followed by the first game that the song was playable in. If unsure about this, check RemyWiki for those details.
EX 1: RED ZONE -- beatmania IIDX 11 IIDX RED playable song
EX 2: ALBIDA -- jubeat ripples APPEND playable song
EX 3: Fushigi na Kusuri -- pop'n music 17 THE MOVIE playable song
Commercials
Entries for songs or sound logos from commercials should have the company the sound logos originated from, followed by "sound logo" or "commercial" and how the song was used. If a page does not exist on the wiki, then a video link is recommended if possible.
EX 1: I'm Lovin' It -- McDonald's sound logo
EX 2: Teeretteree -- Nerunerunerune commercial SFX
EX 3: Song for Toilet (Shoushuriki no Uta) -- Shoushuriki commercial song / Ref: s39_de-2dpQ
