As of 2013-02-16 it has been proposed that all Touhou Project songs be listed under their romanised names, as translations have a tendency to be inaccurate or regularly changed. Under this proposal songs which have an appropriate translated name would be listed as an alternate name:

Entries for songs from the Idolm@sters series should always use the "@" for "A" and have the source name in capital letters (minus the letter I), use the "playable song" sentence in lowercase in the end of the source. Where the song originates from a CD use the CD title instead. The game or CD title must be capitalised correctly (if unsure please check project-imas wiki) - compare the capitalisation for example 2 with example 1.

To determine if a video link is needed, simply do an online search of the Romaji name. If the song is easily accessible on YouTube under the Romaji name, then a video link isn't needed, since the song can easily be looked up. However, if the song can only be found by searching the Kanji title, as is the case for the example below, then it would be good to have a video link.

If the anime already has a page on this wiki, you should use the Internal Link on the name of the anime; if not, do not make the title of the series a link.  Use the acronyms OP, ED (for the words "Opening" and "Ending" respectively) after the source, if the song is not a opening or a ending, use "insert song" in the end.

Revision as of 18:14, 17 December 2014

Here are the tentative standards for listing tracks on this wiki. The eventual intent is to include policies on source listing and usage of romanised/translated titles.

General

  • Where there exists a commonly used alternate title for a song, it should be listed in italics directly after the song title.

Example: Doraemo~n! (The song that plays when Suneo is bragging to his friends) -- Doraemon BGM

Touhou Project

Entries for songs from the Touhou Project series should have the internal link on the source, followed by the BGM acronym. If there are a significant number of Touhou songs used in a medley, such as Choukessen or Galaxy, then add the English portion of the game's title in parentheses as shown below.

EX 1: Necrofantasia -- Touhou Project (Perfect Cherry Blossom) BGM

If the medley where the song is being used is Touhou-themed, then the full title of the game should be used, with the internal link used on "Touhou". If unsure about these names, check Touhou Wiki.

EX 2: Flight of the Bamboo Cutter ~ Lunatic Princess -- Touhou Eiyashou ~ Imperishable Night BGM

If the song is a remix, don't put the name of the version that the original music came from, but the name of the remixer between parentheses with the following phrase: (arranged by _____).

EX 3: Night of Knights -- Touhou Project BGM (arranged by Beat Mario)

Vocaloid / UTAUloid

Entries for the songs from the Vocaloid program should have the internal link on the source, followed by who was singing in parentheses and who created the song.

EX 1: Miku Miku ni Shite Ageru -- Vocaloid (Hatsune Miku) song by ika

Entries for the songs from the UTAUloid program should have the internal link on the source, the following in capital letters, f0llowed by who was singing in parentheses and who created the song.

EX 1: Ochame Kinou (Fukkireta) -- UTAUloid (Kasane Teto) song by Gojimaji-P

To determine if a video link is needed, simply do an online search of the Romaji name. If the song is easily accessible on YouTube under the Romaji name, then a video link isn't needed, since the song can easily be looked up. However, if the song can only be found by searching the Kanji title, as is the case for the example below, then it would be good to have a video link.

EX 1: Ah, Sushi Kuitai o (あ~~~~~寿司食いたいお~~~~~) -- Vocaloid (Hatsune Miku) song by Jiesu (じーえす) / Ref: sm21115198‎

THE iDOLM@STER

Entries for songs from the iDOLM@STER series should always use the "@" for "A" and have the source name in capital letters (minus the letter I), use the "playable song" sentence in lowercase in the end of the source. Where the song originates from a CD, use the CD title instead. The game or CD title must be capitalised correctly. If unsure, please check Project-imas wiki.

EX 1: Do-Dai -- THE iDOLM@STER: Live for You! playable song

EX 2: Sora -- THE IDOLM@STER MASTER ARTIST FINALE CD

Anime

If the anime already has a page on this wiki, you should use the internal link on the name of the anime; if not, do not make the title of the series a link. Use the acronyms OP, ED (for the words "Opening" and "Ending" respectively) after the source. If the song is not a opening or a ending, use "insert song" at the end, or "BGM" if the song is instrumental. If the song originates from a CD, the song should be either a character song or an extra song that only appears on the CD.

EX 1: Hare Hare Yukai -- The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya ED

EX 2: God Knows -- The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya insert song

EX 3: Yuki, Muon, Madobe Nite -- The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya character song (Yuki Nagato)

EX 4: Motteke! Sailor Fuku -- Lucky Star OP (Note that we currently have no page for Lucky Star at the moment)

EX 5: Kaeshite! Knee Socks -- Lucky Star CD single

EX 6: Ne-Ni-Ge de Reset! -- Lucky Star character song (Tsukasa Hiiragi)

Video games

Entries for songs from video games should use the acronym BGM in the end, after the name of the source.

EX 1: Beware the Forest's Mushrooms -- Super Mario RPG BGM

Beatmania

Entries for songs from Bemani games should have the internal link in the source name if a page has been created for it, followed by the first game that the song was playable in. If unsure about this, check RemyWiki for those details.

Commercial Jingles

Entries for songs or jingles from commercials should have the company the jingle originated from, followed by "commercial" and how the jingle was used. If a page for the jingle does not exist on the wiki, then a video link is recommended if possible.

EX 1: I'm Lovin' It -- McDonald's commercial jingle

EX 2: Teeretteree -- Nerunerunerune commercial SFX

EX 3: Song for Toilet -- Shoshuriki commercial song / Ref: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s39_de-2dpQ
